Tried & Tested: Kinky Muk Curl Amplifier

As usual, I am always on a lookout for more curly hair products that I can’t get here in Singapore.

Just tried the Muk range for curly hair that I bought from Sydney a while back. Their official website has a lot of angst man but it’s an interesting read.

The main product that I’m using now is the Kinky Muk Curl Amplifier which feels like a gel and serum hybrid.

Benefits of the product from the site:

  • Natural hold & shine
  • Eliminates frizz
  • Defines & accentuates curls
  • Moisturises hair as it styles
  • Humidity resistant (great for Singapore’s weather)
  • Fruit salad fragrance

Verdict

All the points are true in my opinion but it doesn’t smell like a fruit salad man, I don’t know where they got that from. Smells really musky like an old-fashioned cologne.

My hair frizzed a bit mid day but all I had to do was wet the frizzy part and “re-coil” that curl and it was good to go.

Here are some tips to use it:

Apply to damp, freshly shampooed hair. Don’t be shy to use reasonable size amounts, as kinky muk never, ever dries hard or crispy.

Allow hair to air dry, or gently diffuser dry.

For dehydrated curls, use kinky muk curl leave-in moisturiser prior to kinky muk curl amplifier.

Great, it’s Australia right…so where can you guys buy it?! Right about now, no where in Asia has it, it seems. So you guys have to go online.
