Halloween 2011: Best Places To Go In Singapore

Halloween is this week!!! Most places are celebrating but where are the best places to go this weekend? Especially now that the Night Safari isnt having their annual event anymore.

Whether you’re going out clubbing or with your family, these are the  hottest locations to go:

For the families…

1. UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE-HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS

Price: $60.00

Package Inclusive: One (1) entry pass to Halloween Horror Night. Wander through 6 scare zones.

Available Dates : Oct : 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 28th, 29th (sold out) and 30th

Description

This October, come face to face with terror at the first ever Halloween Horror Nights® in Universal Studios Singapore®, Resorts World™ Sentosa. Wander around six scare-zones but beware of the Director who’s filming his latest gruesome movie – you could be his next victim!

Feel what it’s like to be trapped in a horror film as you run for your life in a Carn-EVIL of crazed clowns. Step into the haunted Peranakan house where you face the Vengeance of the Matriarch as the demented Nyonya stirs her bubbling brew of black magic. Mutated zombies roam around in a Post-Apocalyptic Rage, ravenous and starving for human flesh and blood. An awful curse has befallen tormented inhabitants who are now infected by a foul toxic plague in Pestilence. Can you escape the insane clutches of the Mad Scientist as he stalks unsuspecting victims in The Void to dismember them and fasten on hideous artificial limbs? Shrivel in fear when you flee to The Edge of Darkness from hordes of rampaging mummies and mindless demons seeking fresh souls!

WARNING! EVENT MAY BE TOO INTENSE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13. NO COSTUMES OR MASKS ALLOWED.

2. FrightFest @ Singapore Flyer

Price: $25 nett, $20 with Passion Card

Dates: All tickets are valid for Friday (28 Oct) at 9pm & 10pm and Sunday (30 Oct) at 9pm & 10pm only. Saturday’s tickets are sold out.

Tickets includes entry into FrightFest @ Singapore Flyer Rainforest and 1 Special Halloween Brew (non-alcoholic)*

Description

Challenge your threshold for horror and come face-to-face with fright, as unrest souls resurrect from the Chinese tombstones, Japanese graveyards, and Hantu mansion – all seeking to look for a humanly substitute to unleash all their hatred, sorrow and anger.

Otherwise, attempt to blend in with the Chinese ‘Gui’, Japanese ‘Yurei’ and Malay ‘Hantus’ by dressing up and hopefully, the spirits will leave you alone. If that doesn’t work, calm your souls at the Journey of Dreams interactive gallery or seek solace aboard the world’s largest Giant Observation Wheel, where the mesmerizing cityscape and unmatched night views under the stars sets to dazzle.

3. Sentosa Spooktacular 2011: Asian Horror Back With a Vengeance

Dates: 21 Oct 2011 – 30 Oct 2011

Place: Imbiah, Sentosa

Price: Early Bird Special: From $32.90, Standard Tickets: From $39.90. (Admission charges to island apply)

Description

Are you afraid of the dark? We dare you to experience the horror of Asian folklore and myth at the SIX spine-chilling haunted trails contained within the spooky shores of Sentosa. The nightmare is about to begin so prepare to be driven to the brink of insanity…

The trails include…

RUMAH GILA @ Cable Car Museum

DEADLY LESSON @ Sentosa Nature Discovery

THE TWISTED FANTASY @ The Merlion

LEGENDARY COURTS OF HELL @ Images of Singapore

HAUNTED INSECTARIUM @ Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom

For the clubbing enthusiasts…

Okay, based on the places I have been to, here are my recommendations in terms of decorations, ambience etc..

1. Zouk’s Halloween 2011 presents Rites & Rituals

Date: 29 Oct 2011, 9pm

Price: $28.00-33.00 includes two drinks. Free entry and priority given to those who dress up.

Description

Zouk does have one of the best decorations and ambience but you need to be here EARLY to go in e.g. 9pm  The queues are long, it isnt very packed in the club itself and once you are inside, the wait is worth it. Plus,  everyone does dress up.

2.The Mysteries of The Haunted Island @ Clarke Quay

Date: 29 Oct 2011, 9pm onwards

Where: Central fountain…BUT whole of Clarke Quay celebrates anyway!!!

Check out the list of clubs/bars participating here: Click Here

Admission: Free for Central Fountain event but clubs may charge admission.

Description

I went here last year. Honestly, to me Clarke Quay is THE BEST place to go if you’re not keen to queue at Zouk. Everyone is dressed up and I mean EVERYONE. All the bars are decorated and everyone is going crazy taking pictures, scaring other people and dancing the night away.

If you’re not keen on clubbing, walking around Clarke Quay is good enough to get in the spirit (or lack thereof).

3. Royal Labyrinth @ Royal Room (Newbie)

Date:  29 Oct 2011, 10pm onwards

DJ: J-Styles

Where:Royal Room, Pan Pacific Singapore, 7 Raffles Blvd. Singapore (Marina Bay)

Description

The Royal Room is a new player in SG’s nightlife scene and this is their first ever Halloween event. Based on their ads, expect an eerie night for all as the plush club turns into a haunted mansion. Free. Might head here later if we club-hop.

– Guestlists, tables reservation and those in costume get priority entry

– Entry is not guaranteed if the club is full.

– There will be NO cover charge entry for this event.

– Management reserves the right to refuse entry.

– Contact royalroom@massive.sg for enquries.
